They contain high concentrations of psilocybin and other psychoactive substances. Because they grow underground, they often have a rubbery texture and look like small nodules. In some countries, such as the Netherlands, magic truffles are legally available. They are usually dried and then taken in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.headshop.nl\/vegetarian-transparent-capsules-size-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">capsule form<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.headshop.nl\/shroomshop\/magic-truffle-tea\/\">tea<\/a> or eaten directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"what_are_magic_mushrooms\"><\/span>What are magic mushrooms?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Magic mushrooms, also known as shrooms, are the fruiting bodies of specific mushroom species. They contain similar psychoactive substances as magic truffles, but grow above ground in the form of mushrooms. Magic mushrooms often have a characteristic appearance with a stem and a hat<sup>[1]<\/sup>. In many countries, magic mushrooms are illegal due to their hallucinogenic properties. The dried variety is usually consumed, but they can also be eaten raw or cooked. Propagation is by means of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.headshop.nl\/shroomshop\/magic-mushroom-spores\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">spores<\/a> released by the adult mushrooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"differences_in_appearance\"><\/span>Differences in appearance<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Magic truffles and magic mushrooms differ in both appearance and texture. As mentioned earlier, magic truffles have a rubbery texture and are nodular in shape. Magic mushrooms, on the other hand, have the typical shape of mushrooms with a recognisable stem and cap. These visual differences make it easy to distinguish between the two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"differences_in_potency_and_dosage\"><\/span>Differences in potency and dosage<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Another important difference between magic truffles and magic mushrooms is their potency and dosage. Because magic truffles grow underground and are less exposed to light, they generally contain lower amounts of psilocybin than magic mushrooms.
